In a surprising turn during the Women's Premier League 2027 mini-auction, several experienced players like Chamari Athapaththu, Sophia Dunkley, and Saika Ishaque found themselves without bids. Uma Chetry, the sole representative from India's victorious 2025 Women's World Cup team, was also left unsold. Rising talent Titas Sadhu from the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup faced a similar fate, reflecting the fierce competition and individual team needs in Kochi.
