Mumbai Indians have officially parted ways with head coach Mahela Jayawardene after a lackluster performance in the IPL 2026 season, where they secured only four wins out of 14 matches, placing them ninth in the standings. Despite his leadership yielding three championship titles, the franchise now seeks a new leader for IPL 2027, while maintaining their current coaching staff amidst growing concerns over captain Hardik Pandya’s performance.
