The Calgary Flames have signed Sam Bennett to a two-year, $1.95 million deal. Bennett was a restricted free agent coming off a season where he scored 13 goals and added 13 assists in 81 games.

Karlsson, the runner-up for the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenceman, says he hasn't been able to do anything for three months since the operation in June to repair torn tendons in his left foot.
