Quarterback Brandon Bridge has signed a one-year contract extension to remain with the Saskatchewan Roughriders through the 2018 season, the team announced Wednesday. Bridge, who served primarily in a reserve role last season, dressed for all 18 regular-season games, completing 92 of 138 pass attempts for 1,236 yards and 10 touchdowns.

A person familiar with the negotiations says free-agent first baseman Yonder Alonso and the Cleveland Indians have agreed to contract terms.
